Manifest, Be Patient, and Get Out of the Way!

C. writes:I had a buyer for my house, and before we closed the sale, he wanted to meet and walk through the house with me. My agent gave me a heads-up that he wanted some of my furniture included with the sale. That was something I hadn’t really run into before, and I was resistant to the idea, but I agreed to meet so we could come to an agreement. The house was loaded with furniture, and I was very happy with the overall decor. Each room was comfortable in its own way, different from the others, but everything came together with warmth and interest. The buyer got right to it. He told me he loved the look of the dining room and wanted every piece of furniture in it included with the sale. That meant a very nice dining table with six upholstered, classically styled chairs, and a wine buffet that was a perfect fit for the room. It also meant a remarkable light fixture that looked like a row of wax candles on a metal base hanging from the ceiling, a classic freestanding shelving unit that spanned the width of one wall, and a large rug that perfectly filled the room. I remembered how I had found every piece, and how each one magically fit the space and made the room something special. I was very hesitant to let it all go. It probably wouldn’t fit in my next place, but I could always store it until I figured out what I could use. Practically speaking, I knew I should include it with the house and be done with it, but I was emotionally attached to each piece and to the whole look. For weeks, I had been manifesting that the house would sell for a good price and that all the details would work out perfectly. It seemed I was the one standing in the way. So I agreed and let the buyer have everything in the dining room, along with some other pieces I was just as attached to. Some months later, when I moved into my permanent home, I was delighted to discover that none of the furniture I gave up would have worked there, no matter how I tried to make it fit. The whole thing felt like it had been choreographed and worked out in advance, and maybe it was. I’ve learned many times that when manifesting, you go for the end result and don’t try to work out all the details. This was a perfect example, and I’m just delighted with the outcome.C. ________________________________ Want more? (it’s a fun ride) Purchase the book or e-book.Want to share books with friends?
