Big Office Problems and the Perfect Solution
I’m a criminal defense attorney with a practice in a large city. I’ve been an attorney for decades now, well-established in a high-rise with a great view of the city. All was going very well, so imagine my surprise when I found that my personal secretary of many years had been embezzling money from the law office.
What had to be done was done and immediately, I needed to find a new secretary. A replacement was hired, a bright woman who did a very good job. Then unbelievably, I caught her forging checks from the office accounts. It was a complete shock.
Again, this criminal action had to be reported and I needed that really good office assistant. I hired a young man with very good computer skills, a real ace and an asset to the office. It was like a curse, within weeks I found out he had altered one of the office checks and deposited it into his personal account.
Another secretary was hired but there was a catch. In a very short time, she became surly and would not follow through on the typical duties required for the job.
I couldn’t believe this was happening. I’ve been practicing law a very long time, know my way around and I’m a good and considerate boss. The practice is in a beautiful office that is exquisitely furnished and appointed. When you walk into my office is it is comfortable, highly professional and definitely has the look of a well-established law office. How could this environment and the people attracted to work here be so out of sync?
Whatever this was, it had to stop quickly.
A few months earlier, I had read the book manifesting 123 and had met the author. After following the information in the book, I felt like I was having some small successes manifesting: my own self-improvement, forgiveness, health, and financial success. A lot of what I was working to manifest was personal and conceptual, “blue sky” concepts for my self-image and personal renewal.
After the incredible problems with the recent employees, I put Manifesting 123 on the job. As the book suggested, I made a Movie of my future with the perfect secretary doing a great job in the office. As I learned from the book, perfect is the best way to get what you require. I was definitely ready for the ideal person after those recent experiences.
The solution came quickly. There is someone the building I’ve known for years and really admire. I ran into her at the building elevator and let her know I was looking for someone to handle the office. I was much surprised when she said she would take the job. I now rely on her to run the office – she is the answered prayer. She has also turned out to be a more positive influence in my life, a big gift.
Looking back, I realize I was very trusting of other people that worked for me. That’s the way I want to operate, but there were some things I should have done myself, like being responsible for my personal checking accounts.
After those checkbook fiascoes, my wife became more involved with the basic financial functions of the office, She is great at paying bills, balancing accounts and keeping a good eye on things. Now we are more of a team and well-informed about how the practice is operating. It is great to have her in the office with a flexible schedule that works for her.
It is a dream come true to have two perfect people helping in the office. My wife’s involvement has also improved what was already a very good marriage. What a bonus!
I quickly manifested the solutions I needed and achieved some of the personal goals I have been striving for. Amazingly, my life is richer and happier, just as I had imagined in my future. I am gratefully living my personal and professional dreams. I would never planned it this way, but it has all worked out beautifully.
From all those lemons came a graceful solution
W. is a good and considerate man, deserving of better treatment. He is also a sensitive person, compelled to ask and manifest better traits in himself. After the series of employee debacles, he made a smart move. W. installed a new scene into the Movie of his future where his employee issues were resolved to perfection. He didn’t get more that he bargained for, as they say. He actually created the desired solutions for his professional and personal life and it all came together simply and elegantly.
Here’s a nice trick. Train yourself to react to problems in this way: get into the habit of imagining yourself in your future where that problem doesn’t exist. Further, use the simple instructions in the book to downgrade and take action on the obstacle quickly, eliminating or diminishing worry. Your worries are thoughts powered by fear, a powerful combination and the opposite of your future filled with gratitude or love. Make what you desire and don’t bring your worries (your powerful thoughts) into reality.
