Positive Outcomes from Forgiving and Receiving

Here are two good stories where possible, multi-layered causes and effects are at work. At the least, it is a loving, charitable gesture and a clearing of sorts in action. Everyone involved received gifts and nothing was really lost.

You can probably think of other things at work here…I hope you enjoy this one.

An artist, Charles writes:
I really like how this turned out. It came from two separate things I did but the result was essentially the same. Each event was about money, it’s real value and forgiveness.

The first instance was a painting I sold years ago and allowed my friend to pay it out on time. Paying it back wasn’t easy for her to do and after many years of her chipping away at it, there was a $300 balance. It was a painting I was really proud of, a water scene and I was happy she wanted it for her home. I recently contacted her and told her to forget the balance… she had been in a difficult year.

Well, her happiness became mine and all was settled. The next day I was surprised to get an email from my out of state gallery notifying me that the pastel study for that very oil they had in inventory for years had just sold and a check was coming my way for $1300. That covered the just-forgiven balance of the oil and $1000 on top!

And then there was another, a few-thousand-dollar loan to a long-married couple that had health and financial difficulties over the last few years. One of the special partners unfortunately died and the widower was left with even less income and no prospects for more. Even though an effort was made to pay the balance back, it just wasn’t going to be possible. The best thing to do was to let the loan go gratefully and relieve the burden.

That was that until it wasn’t.

What came next was a series of painting sales like I had never seen before and it was far more income than the amount borrowed by the couple. It was if a gate had been opened.  Worries were eliminated and the accelerated painting sales are continuing. I am very grateful!
