More Like Deal Making Rather Than Manifesting, But…

J. writes: Last October my dad passed away. Apart from grieving becomes this feeling of what have I done in my life? What do I need to get accomplished? I am thinking it’s time for me to be somebody different, perhaps that is the key but I’m still processing a lot of feelings, generally just feeling blue and affecting my husband too. Looking to shift things, I remember that we used to watch Storage Wars together and we sometimes bid on a unit every couple of years or so. For whatever the reason, a person abandons a rental storage unit and the general public can bid on the contents. I brought it up and my husband said, “Hey, why don’t why don’t we bid on one of these?” I agreed because it would be fun. Now, this is a big deal for me because I don’t want to buy someone else’s sorrow. So when I am bidding, I will usually call and try to find out any back story that they’re willing to tell me because I just don’t want to  buy something from a super sad situation. So I called the storage company and they said, “Oh no, this person walked away, never made an effort to keep up the rent. There’s nothing to worry about here.” So I got the green light to go forward but I’m still thinking, I don’t know if I should do this. So I decided to say, “Okay, God, do you think should I should I go for this?” I’m looking for some advice. I want to manifest this and have it come out successfully, but I’m bouncing it out to the universe and asking,”What do you think?” I need to be told. I’m just in that headspace and need reassurances. Going further with this idea I said, “Okay. I don’t mean to tempt you God, but you know, I sell inexpensive, vintage items on Etsy. If you want me to bid on this storage unit, then give me an Etsy sale today.”  Boom, I get a sale. I’m like, no, wait a second, I can easily get a sale on my own, right? I I shouldn’t put it that way, but I needed a clearer confirmation. So here I go again, “God, I really don’t want to tempt you here, but if you give me two sales today then I’ll know it’s OK to bid on that unit.” I haven’t had two, day sales in years so I would consider this a big signal. I put it out there. For almost an hour I’m still thinking about what I had done when Etsy notified me of a second sale. So I go over to the storage company where they had some interior photos of the contents to view and I looked at them carefully. I’m seeing some things that would be really useful for me as an artist but the photos don’t show everything in the unit. OK, this kind of has my name on it and I’m getting the green light to go, so I’m going to do it. I went back to God again and said,“This will be my only bid. This is a lot of money and we’re trying to plan for our family vacations. So if you want this to really be mine, and I know I may have upset you earlier because, you know, this isn’t how I’m supposed to talk to you, but if you want me to have this, and I do see the art supplies inside, then alright, fine, let’s go with the one-time bid. That’s going to be the deal.” There was never another bid and I got all the contents. Inside there was every art supply I could ever need and more. My mind was blown. After surviving my car accident years ago and this gift of so many art supplies, I can’t be shaken from knowing that God is listening and helping. My dad’s death sent me into something unexpected, making me feel kind of lost and not painting as much as before. Now I’m the one that has been tempted and I’m putting the gift of those art supplies to work making more paintings! J. Apparently, God wasn’t upset with J. earnestly asking for guidance! The Little Cafe That Could with Impeccable Timing on the Menu

I recently opened a café in Santa Fe on Canyon Road, a well-known street lined with galleries. It has been a dream of mine to do just this and in this very location for a very long time. The Café Canyon is down below the street level, a real respite under the trees and umbrellas, away from the cars and pedestrians but no one had ever used this little, vacant space. I walked by it for 23 years always thinking, well what if I … It was in Santa Fe where I met my wife, Dominique in 2000. We married and I took her away for a time, and in some of those years, Dominique was running her gallery on Canyon Rd. I was commuting back and forth to Santa Fe while running some very big restaurants during those years in Florida: Miami, Naples, Sarasota and another near Dallas, Texas. These were big operations, $8 – $10 million a year restaurants. I every time I was back with Dominique on Canyon Road I always thought about that small, unused spot that could be perfect for a small cafe but I never was ready… until recently.  A few years ago, Dominique closed her gallery and we lived together in Florida for a time, but Santa Fe called us back. We came back two years ago and not long after, the little location for my café dream came available. I began to seriously look the space over and believe it or not, one guy got it zoned for a coffee shop 15 years ago but he never acted on it. Now it was meant to be, as if it had been waiting for me all those years, undeveloped. This café came together in a magical way. All those many years I envisioned it in my head. I saw it. ..I saw exactly what this place was. I saw the evolution of it. I saw getting the tables and chairs, selecting the menu and a bar with beer and wine and now, everything has remarkably fallen into place. The café has exactly what people going up and down Canyon are looking for. Just really good wholesome food, little drinks, little menu, you know and everything’s quality and relaxing, a little oasis below the street level. I don’t see my retirement yet, so this is the perfect spot until then. I love this business and it has to be that way because if you don’t, it’ll drive you insane. I’m happy meeting the customers that come in from all over the country and I’m fine with waiting tables, talking orders, cleaning, the whole bit. I’m enjoying myself. I have your manifesting book and all those years before I was aware of it, I think that’s what I was clearly doing, manifesting. I kept thinking about this café idea, not being able to keep my mind off of it. It wasn’t a formal manifesting thing, but I was often visualizing the café concept and saw what could happen, just like the book recommends. And there is more but that’s for another time. I’ll just say for now that my little cafe came with a very nice bonus. On the same day last week, my daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Tim, opened a new gallery next door to Canyon Cafe and my wife Dominique had her gallery grand opening directly across the street on the same day! She had kept a gallery presence on Canyon Road for many years and she is now back in a large gallery space that she was in 30 years ago. How could all of that come about this way? What timing to bring us all together like that. Oh, and there are also the 3 very young grandkids that we often carry between our three businesses, all of us nestled right together on Canyon Road, and on it goes…. Important. Add the NOW to Your Manifesting Practice

I have a lot of fellow artist friends and some of them steadily manifest things in their lives. Earlier in the year, I was talking with one of them about getting more sales and at the least, steady sales without the big gaps between purchases. We discussed how our thoughts create form and outcomes and all of the ideas in the book, when the topic of timing came into the conversation. That is, when do our thoughts typically make this happen and what would be the best approach? The timing is all over the place, by the way, but read on for an idea with positive outcomes regarding our thoughts and timing. That discussion took me back years before to a conversation with William Buhlman. He is the premier out-of-body author and the first person that described to me how he saw our thoughts take form in the non-physical realms. He observed that in his out-of-body travels, there is no time as we perceive it, that everything is in the NOW. The past, present and future is all now. This is commonly known and agreed upon by many others, including Judy Goodman who is much quoted in the book, all familiar visitors to the non-physical dimensions.  I can’t wrap my head around it, since our physical experience is limited to three dimensions plus time, but to our non-physical consciousness, this is the norm. Moving forward, here are the basic manifesting instructions in the book: One imagines themselves in a future of their own making where the things they desire have already happened, and then they express their gratitude for that result. Your repetitive thoughts will begin to create that very outcome in the non-physical realm, which is also the place of NOW. Hmmm…. Understanding this now concept could advantage our potential for manifesting, so with that realization, we put a little something else into our plan for more and consistent art sales. First, we continued our manifesting regimen where each day we visualized a future where those sales and our artistic success had been achieved. Now for the new part. We allowed that when we happened to think about a painting sale, we would say to ourselves, “A painting just sold,” or “A painting is about to sell.” This is not an everyday regimen, as we allow it to come up organically and without pressure. It has a slight sense of casual mastery to it…”Oh yes, and a painting just sold today,” a simple observation. For myself, it felt like a small, psychic knowing on a few occasions but most of the time my mind would just stray to that idea and I would make the “sold or about to sell statement,’ in an almost unconcerned way. Much like picking up a common tool like a pencil to use, “Oh yes, I’ll get a pencil for that and it will work every time,” kind of light effort. So what happened? Sales happened and successfully most of the time. We would think to make the statement and we might think to repeat it 2-3 times in the course of a week, not bearing down on it, and a sale in progress would reveal itself or a final transaction would soon occur. This has been going on since late February of this year and it has been remarkable to observe. Have I personally had successes with this? Yes, many times since I added this idea to my own manifesting practice and it is coming hot out of the oven for you. There Are Ups and Downs But There Are Also Gratitudes, Prayers and Manifesting

L. writes: Every morning I write down the things that I am thankful and grateful for in my life when I have my morning coffee and oatmeal. I am very big on gratitude and manifesting! Each day I write down what I am thankful for on a large monthly calendar book called the Smart Daily Planner. I include people, animals and then the things that I will be doing that day. At the end of the week I look at how I achieved things, asking these questions.  What were the big wins and what more did I need to work on?  I also note the things I am actively manifesting so that later, I can actually go back and tell myself the exact day that all these things occurred. I know it sounds funny, but this process is very useful and encouraging for me… and it works! They have a few quotes in the book to give you encouragement.  I love this quote from John Muir, “The power of imagination makes us infinite.” As it is for most of us in our lives, not all times are good ones and my husband and I encountered a number of difficult events in November 2021, during the Covid years.  The first event was the loss of my beloved horse, a long-term companion for over 20 years. He had to be put down and it was an enormous loss for me. His remains are now in an amazing place, just below a beautiful mountain in Colorado. I carried on, continuing to write in my calendar every day, noting all I was thankful for, past and present but with a new addition. I was also thankful in advance for my new horse that was coming to me. We were comfortably renting in the area, my husband the writer and myself the artist, two creative people in a beautiful, Colorado setting. Then unexpectedly, our landlord came to us and said that they are going to sell the house and we would have to move out soon and find a new place to live. The double loss of my horse and our home devastated me. I wanted to get the heck out of there. We decided to move to Santa Fe, New Mexico, to be closer to family. We also sensed that the artistic opportunities and culture would work out well for us and we could start over. This all occurred when everybody was just starting to come out of COVID and oh my gosh, the rentals in Santa Fe were being snapped up fast. I mean they would go on the market then be gone the next day. We would fly out, lock down a rental home and then three times in a row on our way back home, someone else would offer more money and we would lose out. Believe me, I was steadily manifesting a solution to the problem!  We were spending a fortune on traveling back and forth from Colorado to New Mexico. It was on our fourth attempt that we finally found a place online and secured it.  My father lived nearby and prior to our flying out, I had him check out the place. This owner had a list of people that wanted this rental home but a nice break manifested for us. Turns out my father and the homeowner both worked for similar companies and they hit it off. The landlord let us rent the place, thank you Dad! We left Colorado and moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. I’m still telling myself every morning that I am prosperity, I am abundance, I am opulence, I am rich, I am successful. I am confidence, I’m happiness, I am power and I’m success. I would thank God every day for these gifts. After a few months, we had settled into our Santa Fe home.  I was out walking my dog along some rolling hills when a call came in. It was from my lawyer. He was representing me after a big accident.  It was a serious one and I had been hospitalized for a time. I received some accident compensation at the time but after so many years had passed, it was not something I often thought about or expected much more from. The good news was that my lawyer had another settlement check for me in the amount of $21,000! That was a wonderful surprise and it made my next manifestation possible. I contacted a wonderful horse trainer, the lady who helped me get my first horse. She was tickled pink when I requested her help me get my second one. We started going through all these different horses and locations and in the end, we ended up going out to Northern California near San Francisco. I now had the money to fly us both out, pay her fee and all of our expenses. On the trip we found a great horse and arranged to have it tested in a PPE test, a pre-purchase exam that included expensive vet and lab fees. I told myself, I have to get a really good deal on this horse because it’s gonna be tight financially. It turns out the horse didn’t pass his PPE and the vet recommended that I find a different horse. I said, “No, I like this horse. There’s something special about him.” I offered $4000 less than the asking price and my offer was accepted. The beautiful horse was now mine! Further, the savings allowed me a whole year’s worth of boarding that would cover everything, including a local vet that looked the horse over and assured me that there’s nothing wrong with it. I learned something later about the vet that didn’t originally pass the horse. She doesn’t pass most horses and as a result of that exam, my lower offer was accepted. So, I ended up getting everything paid for, including those 12 months of stable fees set aside…amazing! I truly believe that my good fortune came from the manifesting and prayer process that I have been engaged in for

Miracles Are Always in Reach – Large or Small

Miracles Are Always in Reach – Large or Small W. writes: There is a problem. It’s not a big deal but it can’t be solved in a normal way, regardless of how hard you try. There is a key in that statement… keep trying, because your thoughts are finding and creating the solution you continue to repeat. Ken So, I’ve been trying to find a manufacturer for essential oils that I use in my business. I’ve been requesting information from another company for months now, asking and really begging for the wholesale manufacturer’s information. I use these oils to make custom mixes and package them for resale to the public. I need the oils billed and shipped to me directly so I can get them at the best possible cost, make a profit, and offer them to the public at very good prices. I got a little frustrated because the only person I know with that manufacture’s information is not getting back to me. I kept thinking the information is out there but I just don’t know how to find it. I’ve been intensely searching and searching on the Internet looking for different companies. I’ve put in every keyword I could think of but without success. I took a break from the online searches and moved to a totally unrelated matter, opening a dieting application on my phone. The app instructed me to get a piece of paper and pen right now. “Don’t ask questions,” it said, “Just do it. You trust us, don’t you? This will be an important lesson.” OK, OK… I grabbed something to write with along with my spiral-bound notebook full of hand-written notes. I tossed it onto the table to get ready to write. When I did, the notebook bounced open and revealed a page with exactly the wholesaler’s contact information I needed. What??? I was shocked. The wholesaler information was hand-written in my notebook a year ago by the very person I had been try to get the information from. I had completely forgotten he had already done so! Being very aware of Manifesting 1,2,3 and you don’t need #3, I realized that my intense web searches were repeated intentions that were very likely creating the solution I was seeking. Also, the book states that our thoughts will create the most efficient path forward. I just have to laugh because that app directed me to get paper and pen without thinking and to have trust. Who would have thought that tossing my notebook on the table would reveal the answer? Our thoughts really can create amazing things and I’m so grateful for this outrageous outcome! Manifesting for Another: Got it Fixed in Five Days (reprise story)

Last Sunday, my mom and I were on the way to the theater and the “check engine” light came on in her car. She became very agitated and stressed because she loves the freedom of the open road and suddenly no longer felt safe driving her car. I suggested that we start manifesting a solution. However, she was really too stressed to hear me and simply couldn’t focus on manifesting or anything else other than getting home and parking her car in the garage. So I quietly started to run a “movie” about her car being fixed for an “affordable and reasonable price” by someone reliable so that she would once again feel safe in her car. On Monday morning I called her and asked what the game plan was for the car. She said she was working on some options. Once again, I quietly ran the “movie”. On Tuesday afternoon, I asked her what options she had thought of. She had made a list of garages that she was going to call for estimates. I suggested that she should also call the dealership just for a price comparison. As I hung up the phone, I again ran the “movie”. On Wednesday when I talked to her, she had called 3 garages and the dealership. Surprisingly, the dealership had the best prices and she had booked an appointment for the next morning. As I fell asleep, I ran the “movie” – twice this time just to supercharge it! Bright and early Thursday morning she had her appointment at the dealership. About 2pm, I received a text message from mom saying that the mechanic had run a complete diagnostic and couldn’t find anything wrong. He reset the onboard computer and the “check engine” light went off. The mechanic also gave her a short list of items that should be checked in the next few months, but nothing that would stop her from driving safely in her car. As she went to check out with the cashier, they washed and vacuumed her car. When she asked the cashier how much she owed, the cashier told her that the diagnostic fee had been waived and she didn’t owe anything … not one cent!!! How is that for an “affordable and reasonable price”?!  LOL!!  Thank you, thank you for teaching me how to run the “movie”!!  With enormous gratitude and appreciation, Sandi Can you have influence beyond yourself? Yes you can. In manifesting anything is possible if you can think it…and here comes the qualifier. You can certainly help yourself but when it comes to directly helping others, your intentions are often less effective. Those that are close to us are within their own walk in life, with the everyday ups and downs for their individual lives. You can’t simply step in and run their 100 yard dash or take their calculus exam. These challenges for for them to learn. The good news is that you can have influence in the field around yourself and others as well. I can’t know with certainty, but perhaps the engine repair wasn’t mom’s ‘test,’ it was an everyday problem waiting for a solution. The happy result could have been just one of those nice events that come along or perhaps Sandi had some influence in mom’s field. It’s an encouraging story and as someone said to me after a manifesting success of my own, “Now do you see what you can do?” Sandi, don’t stop now! Lost, in Trouble and Reaching Out with a Prayer

Mikaela writes, I was living in Nashville, Tennessee, making a living as a singer. I was on the road at 6:30pm and it was dark during the rush hour. I had the radio on and this song, Why We Sing from Kirk Franklin came on: I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free, His eye is on the sparrow. That’s the reason why I sing. And I’m crying. I’m lost. I have no idea what I’m doing with my life or my career, and all of a sudden, my back left tire pops and goes flat. I got to an underpass and pulled over on the left side of the road near the fast lane. I sat there, feeling very depleted, very beaten and really, really lost.  I had just purchased new tires on my car, but no matter.  What am I going to do? This is before the convenience of cell phones. I grabbed my keys, kept them in my hands, and decided just to walk up the highway and find a place to run across five lanes of rush hour traffic to get home. I quickly realized that would be impossible, a death wish. My walking path on the side of the highway was very narrow and spooky. It was then I realized that I was trapped in a bad situation. So I just kept walking and I remember thinking, “Alright, that’s it. Either take me out now or give me some kind of a sign because I can’t do this anymore. Give me a sign. I need a sign that I’m supposed to still be here.” I kept walking, praying the Lord’s Prayer and watching the red lights of all the cars going by. Then I noticed that the traffic had slowed way down until there were no cars at all. How could that happen? Then a single black pickup truck pulled in next to me and the driver asked, “Do you need a ride?” I accepted and ran around to get in on the passenger side. I was standing in the freeway fast lane and still there were no cars anywhere. It was as if I somehow stepped into an alternate reality. I got in the pickup and all of a sudden the traffic starts to go zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, back to full speed. I asked him why he picked me up and he said he saw my keys shining and I said, “Wow, that’s hard to see when you are going that fast. I had on a long black coat that completely covered me. There’s no way anybody could have seen me holding a set of keys, especially going 65-70 miles an hour in the dark. He said that it looked like I was in trouble. He drove me to my boyfriend’s place nearby and gave me his business card just in case. Then I recognized him, he has billboards all over Nashville because he’s one of the top realtors in the area. I safely got my car back and the next morning, I called this man and I asked him again why he picked me up. He said, “Well, I’ll be honest with you. I felt someone tapping me on my right shoulder and I heard a voice in my ear that said, ‘She needs help, pick her up.” The same morning, I got a call from my girlfriend, L. Here’s a bit about her: some time before, she had been in a massive car accident that literally killed her. She had a time when she was literally gone but she came back to life. During that “out time” she went to the other side, the non-physical, spirit realm and found herself walking with Jesus. He told her that he had a beautiful place for her up there if she decided to stay and that he was going to give her the choice to stay because she was such a devout, loving person. He showed her a present vision of what her husband and her little dog were doing at home. They were sitting in the corner of the hallway outside the bedroom door and she got to hear their thoughts and feelings. She decided to stay even though He told her it’s going to be a long, painful recovery. So back to the morning after being stranded on the highway, L. gave me a call and asked me to come right over because she had a a message for me. L. was still in recovery and I was at her house all the time helping, caring, cleaning, bring food and keeping her company. So I went over to her house and she explained that she had another visit from Jesus. She had written down all of messages that Jesus had given her to pass onto me including this one. Jesus wanted to ask me this, “Was that a big enough sign for you?” I looked at her and I said, “What are you talking about?” L. said. “Last night on the highway.” “Well how did you know about last night?” I asked. She said Jesus came to her and explained what happened. Stopping all of the traffic and finding someone to pick you up took a number of angels to make it possible, He had said. Then He chose the right person, the driver of the vehicle that He had tapped on the shoulder, telling him, ‘She needs help, pick her up.” I was still not grasping the entire connection at that moment because I was sort of new to this sort of thing, but I realized later that I had manifested Him in my prayer when I asked to either take me out now or to give me a sign. He gave me a sign that He was there and made a second trip to my friend to explain everything, including that He is always watching over me and that He loves me. Can I Manifest Something and Then Change My Mind for Happiness Sake?

Tim writes: In 2016 I had spent a lot of time in Africa, resulting in my being afflicted with a parasite for a time. I had to stop performing after 7 years and it gave me a lot of time to relax and find out who I was as a person without the performing arts career. The arts were a big part of my life and I realized that most of my friendships were from that field and particularly around singing. I recall the day being in my bedroom and coming to the realization that I didn’t want to be known as a singer, that I just wanted to be known as a human. It was an aspirational thought but I soon regretted saying it. I put it this way and said it out loud, “I never want to sing again.” That statement, that command, ended my singing career. I stopped performing but the time off did help me find out who I was without the acclaim of others. Many years later, in December 2023, I decided that singing was a valuable gift and a worthy part of who I am. I wanted to sing again, so I began to manifest that outcome in my meditations while also taking action, singing periodically in Sunday morning church settings – a good start. I also decided that regardless, I was going to perform again, regardless of genre, regardless of platform, regardless of what people would think of me, or record deals, or anything. It was during this time that I happened to hear a short take of Mikaela Rae singing and it was inspiring. She is a Jazz vocalist but her true love is Gospel. I’ve done pop dance, indie, folk, rock, metal… just about everything. I had never done Gospel but now I was inspired to do so. Once I began singing Gospel, the realization came that I had found my voice again. About those lyrics…Gospel comes out of a place of pain but it’s also singing of joy and suffering. It made me think about slavery, African Americans being punished for no reason and the strong spirit that came out of their songs. They are songs of hope, gratitude and freedom, timeless expressions that ring true for every generation. By singing these songs, I live them to a degree. It has changed the way that I think, the way that I act, and the way I live my life on a daily basis. Clearly I had been asking and manifesting to sing but surprisingly, I was gifted much more. After Two Negative Years, Manifesting the Opposite!

M. writes: Sometime back, my sister, K. was working at a compounding pharmacy in Texas. It’s where custom medications are made to fit the unique needs of patients that can’t be met with mass-produced products. It was an OK job and the bills were paid. Then a group from Colorado bought it in order to turn it into a sterile lab, It’s a big deal to make that conversion, requiring a lot of engineering, time and expertise. So during that time they laid her off along with a few of the other the people working there. Six months went by and they were still being paid including health insurance, but they didn’t work or anything. K. kept thinking that any day, any week, she would go back to work. Finally after six months, they were told the payments would stop, but their job was still in the future. So K. quickly go a job working with COVID and other types of test kits at $13 an hour. It was horrible, just horrible with somebody breathing down her neck all day. That prompted here to push out more resumes until she got a job working at a doctor’s office collecting urine. It’s not very much money, but she took the job. I talked with her and asked, “Why don’t you look for a good paying, full time job doing something you would like to do?” That’s when I talked to her about manifesting. I was manifesting for her daily. She has a tendency to be negative so I jumped in and said, “Look, when you speak it, you’re bringing it to you. So you need to turn that around and you need to say that this is the job I want. Imagine yourself working in that large hospital you like that is 20 minutes away, not something with a one hour commute each way.” She stepped up and applied for a job at the preferred hospital and got a call back for an interview! She got a second interview and they told her they’re going to let her know by the next Wednesday, great news so far. So I suggested to her that between now and next Wednesday, pretend you got the job and imagine yourself happily working there. I was so proud of her! She started walking around the house saying out loud that this is my dream job and pretending she already had it. Then the call came and they offered her the position. To this point, she had been working for very little and she said to the caller, “Well, I need to make at least $16 an hour.” They offered her $24. Okay, okay but that’s most she’s ever made in her life. Her first day was basically orientation. At the end of the day, she was so overwhelmed and so thankful that she had this job she was holding in her tears. She called me and just was sobbing. I thought somebody died. She just was crying uncontrollably. “Oh my God, what’s wrong?” I asked. She had been keeping those tears in all day. She told me that she has her own office with a window on the ground floor of a three story building. Her nameplate is on the door and she can park right next to her office door and let herself in. Even better, it’s a fulfilling job, doing claims for low income, indigenous people. She works with two other people and they each have their own office. The offices are very nice, roomy with good furniture and there are two computer monitors on her desk. It’s a big deal. She just sent me a video of her office a little bit ago. There is a gym on the second floor that she loves. Her hours are weekdays from 7:30 – 4:30 and the short commute makes it easy. I’m so happy for her because she has had it really hard the last two years. But even after this success, it’s still difficult for her to turn her negative thought process around. Just yesterday before we hung up she mentioned that she doesn’t feel worthy. I quickly reminded her that all of her thoughts, negative and positive, are very powerful, so stay in the place where positive things are created and for K., so far, so good!! M. I Didn’t Realize How I Manifested a Remarkable Gift to Myself! Our thoughts are always creating things, even if we are not noticing. Pay attention to what you are saying and thinking and in particular, avoid repetitive, negative thoughts, just because… Ken Holly writes: I recently took an art workshop from Ken and toward the end of the weekend he asked each one of us, “Do you know where you want to go with your heart?” I decided on an artistic answer, that I wanted to exhibit my works, not really focusing on an income, but to get my artworks out there where people could see it and enjoy it. That workshop really restarted a lot of things for me and made me focus on what I wanted to accomplish as an artist. To that end, I told myself every day that I’m going to do something with my art career. It could be painting, working on my art website or even meeting my picture framer. I would touch on all the things that make up an artist’s career each day and rationally support my goal of having a gallery show. It was in late November when I got an email from a woman contacting San Diego artists on behalf of a local gallery in Balboa Park.I have no idea how I got on her mailing list to receive the nice invite and when I connected with the gallery, the person that invited me didn’t know either. I thought, well what the heck, it was an invitation to rent the gallery for $100 and I would be competing with other applicants to get the space. My girlfriend was with me and she said, “Oh, you really should apply,” and so I did. I’ve never been completely comfortable with the manifesting thing but after talking to Ken later and looking back onto what happened, I realized that my success was very much like a manifesting script.  At first, I was doing the manifesting thing, often picturing myself in the space and feeling what it would feel like to see my work hanging on the gallery walls. I just trusted that I would get a gallery show somehow and I simply got out of the way of making it happen, trusting that my thoughts would go a certain way and have some power of their own. I knew not to get all hung up on the negatives – that I’m not professional enough, or I haven’t done this thing, or that I’m too old, etc. Following along, when the opportunity appeared I took action. I didn’t shy away from the taking action. I picked up the phone, made contact with the gallery and decided on the spot to proceed with my application. As a scientist, manifesting is a very skeptical topic for me but I do like that part in Manifesting 1,2,3 and you don’t need #3 where it says is that like gravity, you don’t have to know how it works, and that you don’t have to visualize every intermediate step to success.
