How to see the Pope without a ticket
Karen writes: I have asked for many things in my life, but this turned out to be something extraordinary and long-lasting. The Pope’s Mass was being televised from Monterey, California in l987. I feel silly admitting this, but as I walked by the television set I touched the screen and said, “I’d sure like to see you in person.” The Pope’s next stop was San Francisco and of course tickets to see him at Candlestick Park had been sold out for months. As I drove across the Bay Bridge the day of his Mass, I listened to him on the radio. I was approaching my exit to downtown for an appointment, but I couldn’t resist the tremendous urge to drive on and head for Candlestick Park. I decided to see the Pope and do it without a ticket! Well, I’d never even been to that stadium and I wasn’t sure which exit to take. I took the wrong route and ended up in a huge parking lot of a manufacturing company. I headed back to the freeway on a frontage road, and then saw it, Candlestick Park. I pulled into a parking lot filled with buses and security guards. A guard came to my van window and said: “You can’t park here. Well of course not,” I thought to myself, “and this could go down in your diary as one of the silliest things you’ve ever done.” I turned around and headed back up the hill toward the freeway again. As I was driving away, I saw three people flagging me down. There was a neatly dressed man, his wife and a child. I normally wouldn’t have stopped in a situation like this, but I did. They were desperately hurrying to catch a plane. All they wanted was a ride to the bus stop and they asked me if I would take them there. I gave them another once-over evaluation and said, “Sure, get in, I don’t seem to have anything else to do.” They were very grateful and remarked how lucky they were to find me out there, since there was no one else around. Of course not… anyone with good sense (and a ticket) was already seated and listening to the Pope. They were curious and asked how I happened to be in the bus parking lot. When I said I had this wild notion I was going to see the Pope, even without a ticket, I saw the man reach for something in his pocket. Can you imagine my total amazement when he handed me a ticket? They had to leave, he explained, so he gave me his. It was a pretty fast ride to the bus stop and I was back at the bus parking lot again with no place to park. Now I was very excited, so I drove back up the hill and found the only spot left on a side street, and just the right size for my van. I grabbed my camera and literally ran for the stadium entrance. I was panting when I got to the admission gate, partly from exhaustion and partly from excitement. I proudly handed the agent my ticket, and she said: “Sorry, but for security reasons we can’t let anyone in after the service has begun.” I couldn’t believe it. All I could say was a feeble, “But I have a ticket.” Well, something told me it wasn’t supposed to end like this, so I ran around the outside wall hoping to find another entrance. Yes, there it was. There were also many security guards. There was no way, but I was already standing there, I started to try the ticket again. Suddenly, there was this very loud booming noise from somewhere. I couldn’t tell what in the world it was, but all the guards looked up to the sky and I walked right in to see the Pope! There he was, like a magnet. I forgot all about finding the ticketed seat. I just walked down to the field level, went to the edge of the iron fence and there I was. I was at the closet perimeter to the Pope. I just gazed at hime from across the grass. He said: “Let us pray.” It was his closing prayer and then he blessed us all. I couldn’t believe it! There was an immediate sense of my being lifted onto a cloud. What an incredibly wonderful experience. Since that chain of events, I’m convinced there is a force that cares about our everyday needs. All you have to do is “ask and it shall be given you.” Well, that was just ONE set of miracles! What is a miracle? A phenomenon that defies the laws of nature. Little did I know another would unfold 11 years later! I was on a bus tour of Europe in 1998. It was a real whirlwind of basically a night in each of ten countries. At the time, currency was different in each country. It seems I always had the wrong money in my pocket when we stopped for lunch. Not being able to pay for lunch is a good way to lose weight. Italy was one of the last countries we visited, and as we pulled into Rome, the driver was totally frustrated by the traffic. After sitting for several minutes at a time and then moving only a few feet, the tour director announced that he was going to park the bus. He recommended that we should all exit the bus and get a cup of coffee. We were near the Vatican and it was the Pope’s 20th Anniversary. The roads were virtually blocked with cars and people walking to the St. Peter’s Square. Everyone was hoping the Pope would make an appearance. So, I eagerly followed the crowd the short distance to the Vatican. Well……you guessed it….again! The huge, majestic doors of the Vatican opened and out walked the Pope! He spoke for several captivating minutes. I didn’t need a ticket this time. And yes, I felt like I was lifted up onto that cloud again. Actually, I couldn’t even speak for awhile because
My Heart’s Desire
From Carol, My largest heart’s desire for years has been to have a loving, healthy relationship and to discover the man of my dreams. After a few short-term relationships and plenty of internet dating, I became discouraged. Yet, I knew my guy was out there and I knew I would have a relationship, so I hung in there. Finally in 2014, I decided that I would manifest my partner this year. I found myself telling my friends that this was the year that I would partner with the right person. I continued to hold the dream vividly in my consciousness and would often visualize and feel the emotion of being in a wonderful relationship. It was a relentless dream—the most important one! I used the manifesting techniques I had learned every day. Much of my energy went into taking actions toward this goal and picturing it in my future. It was a constant wish. I desired it more than anything I can think of. Interestingly, there was a man I had dated several times and we had a nice, mutual attraction. His name was Mark and our dating ended on three different occasions mostly because he was too busy running his successful firm. Each time I was rather dumbfounded as it seemed we could be right for one another. A year ago we had decided to give it another try and after a few weeks he ultimately decided to end it again, feeling I hadn’t been there to the degree he wanted. I was very sad, but felt I needed to move on. A year went by and one day I emailed Mark spontaneously, not sure why, but without romantic thoughts. We decided to get together, but he was in the mountain town where he has a home, so I drove up and with no expectations this time, we met again. Our time together flowed in a wonderful way. We both felt surprised and somewhat puzzled, but continued on. We ended up spending the entire day together. That evening we embraced and expressed our fondness for one another and our wonderment that, given how much we cared for one another, we hadn’t come together in our past attempts. We continued to see one another, but by this time I had started another relationship. Ultimately, the love Mark and I shared was simply undeniable and I bowed out of the other relationship. Mark and I happily fell in love and we are talking about the future! We are both amazed and grateful that we have found one another. When I find myself feeling as if a miracle has happened, I realize that I pulled him to me with the strength of my vision. I was picturing it and being grateful for what would be. Manifesting works, it is very simple to do and it has brought me much happiness! Carol How did this come about? Carol was very clear about when this would happen and she specified that “right” person. Without using details, she required that her partner be the right one, nothing less. She kept the bar high and simple at the same time. Carol knows a lot about manifesting and she understands that a lot of details are unnecessary when ‘right’ or ‘perfect’ are so much better. The first few times Carol and Mark were together it just wasn’t right. Both of them set the bar pretty high for that possible partner. Is it possible that each of them needed a bit more polishing up, so to speak? It is possible they needed a better understanding or appreciation of each other? Whatever the reason, it just wasn’t ‘right’ in the beginning and they moved on. The time came when everything was “right” all at once. After a lot of time had passed, Carol had the urge to call Mark without any preconceived ideas. Carol’s continued thoughts to manifest the right partner never stopped building. Your thoughts will work ceaselessly and efficiently to bring what you require into existence. So take advantage, set your bar high and stay with it. How very exciting for Carol and Mark! Yes, OK Maybe, Then a Jackpot!
From Martha: I’m writing to tell you my story so far. I bought your book last February. Before that, I had some knowledge of the Secret but your book blew my mind. We live in Ireland and there was a bad recession here recently. We needed to relocate, so my husband and I decided on Australia. He was working very hard towards his accreditation as a lawyer there and was eventually successful. He traveled to Australia to get his paperwork and formalize his credentials. During the time he was there, I started using Manifesting 123. I was doing my Movie as you recommended in the book and I was using the technique of being in my future. In my future, my husband had his job in Australia and we were happily living in the city there. I didn’t put any limitations on what that city would be. During my husband’s first trip to Australia, he was very happy. He called to tell me how great everything was there. I got the idea that he should contact the person that offered him a job there last year. He couldn’t practice law there last year, but now he can. A very positive contact was made and it was suggested that we needed to visit and see what it was like. I started to think how wonderful it would be to have a holiday with my husband and discover Australia together. So in April we flew there. It was just like I imaged in my movie! We saw the opera house from our boat in Sydney harbor. Wonderful! Later we traveled to the place where the job was offered. We didn’t like it as much since it was too far from the larger cities. We flew back home and waited to see what would be offered. Once I was back home, I stared to think that the best place to live is in my country. That is what I really wished for. I’m from a Latin-American country and that just feels best. I put the change into the future Movie I was manifesting. Guess what? After five Skype interviews, the person in Australia did not want to offer the right visa for us. It was a relief. I had times of doubt but I kept listening your interviews and using the simple Manifesting 123 techniques. Recently I added that in my future I imagined 10,000 euros was mine. It had come to me somehow and I was so grateful! So what happened next? This weekend my mother called, telling me that she sold some land and she was going to give me money from the sale. How amazing and funny at the same time. The amount of money is in pesos, not in euros, but it has a lot of zeros!! I’m stilling working on moving to that best place to live, my own country. Of course I’m being grateful for all I have now. Thanks Ken, talk to you again soon, Martha Everything doesn’t happen all at once, or does it? As Martha manifested the thing, it started to appear. Since your thoughts literally begin to form the target concept as you think them, then you can expect to see results. ALL of your concepts are forming and some will arrive sooner than others, it’s just that simple. In Martha’s case, she had a change of mind about Australia and shifted the destination in her Movie. The change went in and the new location is becoming more and more real every time she views it in her future. The concept of this new location has a few moving parts, so to speak, but be assured that it is going to manifest in her world if she works it just once a day. I love the part about the pesos coming in. It’s a great confirmation that she is making things happen. It makes me wonder – are all those pesos to getting what she requires in that Latin-American country? Your turn next! Can Anyone Manifest a Big List? Just Watch!
Recently I wanted to go to a conference in Utah but getting the money and time off from my husband’s job was a big problem. To make things worse, my car was no longer drivable. It was the engine and it was looking like a full replacement. My husband’s car needed repairs as well, but at least they were less expensive. He was just being practical when he said we can go on the trip or fix the car, but not both. I have a couple of good friends, Dave and Carol. They told me if you want something, ask for it. Then I thought back to a conference I attended in Kansas City. Ken Elliott was introducing his new book, Manifesting 123 to the large audience there. It certainly made an impact on the audience and me – he got a standing ovation. It all made perfect sense and I went with it for a time before I stopped using Manifesting 123 as a daily practice. After talking with Dave and Carol I went to the Manifesting 123 website to review Ken’s radio interviews. I like his philosophy: everything you need is there in the interviews for free. No teasers or gimmicks. I had a lot that I wanted solved in a very short time. “How is this possibly going to work?” I thought, but I went for it. Manifesting 123 changed my life. I wanted to go to the Utah conference and my husband added if were going to drive that kind of distance, then we should be doing a real vacation. Okay, as long as I’m manifesting this, let’s have the money for the conference and the long trip as a package. Why not? Right away, things started falling into place. The closer the conference date came, the more I felt things change. Surprisingly, my husband got two weeks off. Then we were able to get his jeep repaired. We could repair only one of our two vehicles, but now we had a dependable car for our road trip. Soon after, I had a friend that passed, but quite unexpectedly, a small amount of money was willed to me. It was enough to pay for our real vacation and the conference. Off we went! Starting at our home in Wisconsin, we first visited Mount Rushmore and went on to the conference in Utah. At the conference there were people that knew of my work as a spiritual practitioner. I did a number of personal sessions there and received more funds for our vacation. We had a National Parks pass, so we left Utah and went to the Grand Canyon. Our last scheduled destination was Tombstone Arizona where my husband visited his father’s burial site. Amazingly, I made some new friends in Tombstone and I’m getting new business from that pleasant encounter. It was quite a trip and we went through a Big Corn Patch attraction on our trip as well. Time and money was not a concern. What a relief. After returning from our trip I continued to stay with my Manifesting 123 routine. On my manifesting list was to somehow get some dental work done. I have some teeth missing so this is a real priority. A solution arrived in the form of free dental care! It seems miraculous. Things are just getting better. I’m not the same person anymore. I am happier and even ecstatic at times. Every morning I wake up with a smile on my face. I’ve talked to my husband about manifesting. We are both changing. We have more mutual goals, than ever before. My husband notices these things. All of a sudden our lives are moving forward so smoothly. It just keeps coming. Somehow I got new motor for my pickup, cheap! It now runs like brand new. In my movie I am manifesting checks and they show up – much more than before. I am sharing all I know to my clients and friends. I’m tickled and so thankful! Oh yes, I’m doing my movie every day. Bless your heart, Cindy Who opened the big box of good things? Cindy did. She wanted to go to a conference in Utah, but, but but. So what to do? She learned that her thoughts literally create anything, that they actually begin to form up instantly. She heard that anyone can do this, so why not? She got results. A LOT of good results. Then there was this wonderful side effect that so many people report. She became happier and more thankful. Manifesting My Successful New Career and More Happiness!
Kristen McGannon “Boca” acrylic on canvas, 36 x 36 inches I’ve been a painter all my life, but always as a hobby, never professionally. Two years ago, after four children and a long career in advertising, I finally decided to really devote some time to my passion, painting. I launched a small web site, and tentatively let people know I was “in business.” It’s very scary to reinvent yourself as an artist after more than 20 years as a marketing person and mother. I was taking my first baby steps. Last summer I discovered Ken Elliott’s artworks on Pinterest and loved his work immediately. I signed up for his painting workshop and travelled to Denver. On the last evening of the art workshop he did a short lecture on his Manifesting 123 book. It was a totally new concept to me and I was very intrigued. It was a life-changing weekend: huge from a creative standpoint as an artist but also from the manifesting angle. It was my introduction to the whole idea and what set me on my course as a professional artist. I started using the Manifesting 123 ideas and visualized my new life as a working artist. I imagined selling some paintings, I imagined a show and I imagined a beautiful studio and regular business. I visualized success in my future and used gratefulness constantly. That was about a year ago. Guess what has happened since? I sold my first painting last summer, had a great show in March and am now regularly selling my work and setting up a real studio. It’s truly beyond what I had ever dared to believe possible. Recently I did a follow up phone session with Ken. Our last conversation was HUGE for me… it changed my whole outlook on what I might be able to do with my art career and gave me the confidence to really go for it. I am going to the next level as an even happier professional artist. I will manifest it, do the work and watch it happen! I’m so grateful to Ken for teaching me about manifesting. Not only has it brought wonderful things into my life, but it has taught me to live each day with gratitude, which is truly life-changing. Kirsten McGannon Kansas City We all do this at some point. We put things off even if it would make us happy. Why would we delay our happiness? We aspire to have that wonderful thing in our lives but we put it off or define it as something unattainable. We will even find excuses not to ask, pray or try for that happy something. Not Kirsten. She had a very strong desire to be an artist for years. I Got My Entire Wish List! …once I stayed with it
From Margot M. Note: Judy Goodman mentioned here is at the core of Manifesting 123. Ken Elliott first introduced me to the concept of Manifesting in February of 2013 when we met to discuss a painting commission for a client of mine. Over the course of several more meetings regarding the painting, he continued to elaborate on his own fruitful experiences with manifesting and those of his friends who had also seen positive results. While the power of positive thought was not new to me, engaging it with an intent for results was. As it was less than a year into launching my art consulting firm, and being very determined to gain traction in the competitive market, I figured, “Why the heck not?” and decided to give it a whirl. Using the instructions in the book, I began to formulate “my perfect future” movie — what that looked like, who was in it, and how it felt. It didn’t take long before I was playing my movie in my mind’s eye almost daily. The movie included my driving a new mid-size SUV up to my home with a fabulous new landscape design, a constant flow of client checks in the mailbox, the kitchen of my dreams, a strong healthy marriage with my amazing husband, and being surrounded by family and dear friends. In my movie I am overwhelmed with gratitude and joy, secure in the knowing that this abundance was well-earned, is here to stay and will only expand. Each time I engaged in this few-minute ritual, it ended with a big smile on my face and warmth in my heart. If nothing were to come of playing my “movie” regularly, at least it was a few minutes of feeling REALLY good each day. Well, most of 2013 turned out to be an incredibly challenging year for my marriage, my business, and me personally. At times I felt like throwing in the towel on all of it. There were many hard lessons learned that made my “movie” feel like a complete joke and a waste of time. I was sure that I wasn’t “special enough,” “deserving enough” or “pure enough” to receive the blessings that Ken had claimed were possible. By mid-year, unable to piece my “movie” back together after it had been shattered, or to script a new one, I closed the curtain on manifesting…until November. In early November 2013, Ken’s dear friend Judy Goodman came to Denver to conduct a one-day workshop. This wasn’t my first experience listening to and openly absorbing, Judy’s life-changing guidance and wisdom, but that day reignited my manifesting fire. I went back at it full force, with the same “movie” I had been playing all year. Within a few days, my husband, with whom I had never shared the contents of my “movie,” said, “Let’s start figuring out what it would cost to remodel our kitchen. If our tax return and my bonus are big enough next year, we should do it!” I was shocked and partly in disbelief because for the past 15 years, we had been putting our tax return toward mortgage payments. We had been envisioning and discussing the possibilities for a major kitchen remodel since the first day we laid eyes on our house and that remodeled kitchen is what I played in my “movie.” Could this be a sign that manifesting works? It was too early to tell. Late in November, I received a random call from a notable client requesting a proposal for a very exciting project: my biggest yet. (In fact, the previous year, my firm lost a similarly scaled, but MUCH lower budgeted, project to a competitor.) The first meeting with the new prospect client went exceptionally well, but they wanted to wait until after the holidays to make any decisions. I had to be incredibly patient despite my excitement and confidence that my business would be awarded the project. With the holidays, naturally came snow and ice here in Colorado. The light on the dash of my 14-year old VW Jetta indicating a problem with the anti-locking breaks had been on since spring. It would cost nearly as much as the car was worth to make the repair. With the business still in its infancy and having to work a part-time job to barely make ends meet, neither the ABS repair nor a new vehicle were financially feasible for me. And sure enough, I endured two incredibly scary situations sliding through busy intersections without breaks. I swore that I would have that new SUV I had been manifesting before the Winter of 2014 came along. Fast forward to July 2014……. Our 2013 tax return and my husband’s bonus were just enough to cover the cost of remodeling our kitchen exactly as we had envisioned and we are loving it! It feels like the space it was always meant to be and it finally fits our aesthetic taste and lifestyle. My business revenue in the first six months of 2014 was equal to that of the last two years combined! With several juicy projects coming in the next few months and with continued manifesting, I know this will turn out to be an excellent year of growth for my art consulting firm. A month ago I sold my 2000 VW Jetta for a good amount and we purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee —supremely safe to drive in winter and big enough to haul fairly large works of art. (Up until now, I was regularly spending money on rental vehicles just to transport a few large pieces of art across town.) Although we looked and considered a variety of makes and models, it wasn’t until several days after I drove the Jeep home that I realized I had pasted a picture cut from a magazine of the very same car, in the same color, to my vision board well over a year ago. Manifesting My Replacement and Then My Retirement
I want to tell you about my great success with Manifesting. I have been retired for 14 days!!! Loving it and I couldn’t be happier! A lot of manifesting was put into the decision and the outcome is/was amazing! While making the decision to retire, I was flooded with the what ifs. For me personally, I knew retirement was best for me. As a school principal there were many other people to think about. It was important that the person who taking my place would be able to lead the staff and students forward and not undo what we had created together. So I began manifesting the perfect principal who would love the students and staff as much as I did, who had great relationship skills and could take them instructionally to the next level. Of course I always finished my Manifesting Movie with “I am so very grateful!” I practiced Manifesting that outcome that for months. Finally I made my decision public to my superintendent and staff. About a week later, a person popped into my head and I knew that he was the one to take my place. I talked to him and he wasn’t interested at the time. That’s OK, I kept manifesting the future with him as the principal, sitting in the chair in my office and walking the building. I was so very grateful! A week later that person came to me and said that he was going to apply. I kept manifesting this future where “Joe” is the new principal of the school and it happened! I left my school after 14 years knowing that it is in good hands and he will be able to take it to the next level. We have a good relationship and I have been able to help him transition for the past few months, making it better for everyone. I AM SO VERY GRATEFUL!!! My retirement is almost set – just one more thing. In the past, the district has had a retirement incentive, but times have been tough and for the past few years they dropped the incentive. I began using Manifesting 123 for a retirement incentive that would pay my insurance for a year or so. I wasn’t hearing anything, but then in April the district offered a one-time incentive. They would pay my insurance for 3 years! I was elated and very grateful. Everything I manifested happened perfectly. Not only is the perfect principal leading my building forward (and he is so excited!!), and I also get insurance for 3 years. I have now retired and I am now painting, taking care of me and traveling! Earlier in the school year you worked with my staff via FaceTime. You showed them how to manifest their perfect school year. Here’s the story from that past newsletter. We wrote our intentions on post-it notes and put them on a board for all to see. Each staff member also had a copy of what they were manifesting on their desks. During the last staff meeting of the year, we shared our successes and many staff told of how their manifestations came true. Manifesting can work for anyone and we had some great success stories to share. I’ve had many conversations with staff about how they can manifest anything in their lives. I shared this perfect principal story with them. Your talk made a significant impact on my staff throughout the year. I know that they are busy manifesting now for their new school year.
