How Could This Happen? The Improbable Business Plan

How Could This Happen? The Improbable Business Plan

Here is Manifesting at its best.

Since I am an artist and a writer, I have a lot of creative friends. We love what we do and the trick is to be the happy artist and pay the bills. We talk often about things artistic and our careers. Read that as talking about improving as an artist and paying the bills.Strategies abound and fortunately, artists have a lot of options for success. First, do good work. The artist decides what is to be created, the medium and size. Then there are options on how to be seen and much more. It’s a lot to consider.

In this story, an artist used Manifesting 123 to boost sales and simplify his career management. He doesn’t want to be identified here, so we’ll call him Charles.

Each day the artist did the Manifesting 123 steps and his 7 grateful things. Charles has a number of future scenes in his Manifesting “Movie.”

His most important scene is that he has perfect health. In his future, he simply observes that he is very healthy and has been for some time. He is also very mindful to say that he is very grateful after each of his future scenes.

Second on his priority is that he does his souls’ purpose, whatever that may be. So in his future scene he is relaxing comfortably somewhere and observes that he has been doing his souls’ work for sometime. He feels fulfilled and grateful.

All the other scenes in his movie can be put into the category of living comfortably and happily. Some of those scenes involve Charles’ successful career as an artist and he visualizes that in a way that doesn’t create limits.

In his future, Charles is happy as an artist, healthy, living comfortably, and abundantly, so of course those bills are paid. He was careful not to specify how this would come about in the future, only that it all did.

Here’s where it gets interesting. Charles typically does about three to four medium to large works a month with a sprinkling of smaller works throughout the year. At the end of the year, he will have produced 40 – 70 works. In 2012 and going forward, he committed to doing five much larger works each year in the hopes of greater artistic and financial success. That’s a pretty good strategy for improvement in both areas.

2013 was an interesting year for Charles. He seemed to be constantly drawn into doing what appeared to be his soul’s work, a very high priority, but it was taking considerable time from his art career. He had observed that his being in service apparently was a protected time. If he lost studio time, somehow he could make it up by being more efficient or other means. If Charles was in the studio and interrupted by someone needing help, that call to service, then he would drop everything and make himself available.

He was fighting to get to the studio throughout the year, but the calls for him to be of service were taking all of his time. He kept his souls’ work as a priority at the expense of his art career and there was a LOT of service in 2012 for Charles.

At the end of the year, Charles discovered he had done nine new works and sold only three of that group. That was an exceptionally dismal year for art production…the worst ever. Even as a beginner, he did far more art works than that.

So how did he pay the bills? His Manifesting came through. Charles had a good amount of inventory in galleries around the country from years before and in 2013 it was steadily selling. At the end of the summer the earlier works began to sell even more.

Charles was very concerned about his lack of new works to show, but when he tallied up his sales last December, he was very surprised. Total sales showed that was his best year as an artist!

It just doesn’t seem possible to have precious little coming out of the ‘factory door’ for an entire year and expect success, but that is exactly what happened!

Charles is scratching his head and he is VERY grateful! He said this “really works” and he has made even better plans for his future.

Are you kidding me?

This is not the typical business plan by a long shot, but Charles allowed the higher priority of doing his souls’ work and the bills were paid… regardless. He told me it was tricky for him. He was feeling the pressure of paying his expenses and the frustration of being pulled away from the studio, the source of his income.

In the real world you work and get paid. He was outside his comfort zone but somehow each month, sales would come in. There were even additional funds that came in by suprise from outside sources.

After seeing this repeating month after month, he saw a trend emerging in his favor and just said yes to those needing his time elsewhere. He felt a bit more comfortable with what was being manifesting around him but never completely. It was all to unbelievable to fully accept.

He did have a great way to handle the worry of it all. There is a great tool in the book as the #2 of 123. Grab a copy or you can hear me discuss briefly it in my radio interviews.

How is 2013 going for Charles? Service is still a priority and he has tweaked the art career part of his Movie. He is back in the studio and off to a fantastic start in just two weeks, but that is a story for another time.I wish you every success. Go for it!
